Neatfold...can you say it’s a gift from heaven? Seriously….Ok, maybe a little exaggerating but this simple bracket does make folding sheets neat, easy and fast. Martha Stewart once wrote a whole article about folding fitted sheets. I kid you not. Obviously America has a real problem here. If she had the Neatfold she wouldn’t have had to do that. Honestly, a cabinet with crisp linens all lined up in tidy stacks is a joy to behold. Visually, it creates a sense of organization immediately. It won’t sort them into twin, full size, queen or king. Nor will it separate towels from bath mats. After all, you have to do SOMETHING to make this your dream closet. Add a few baskets for managing small toiletries and medical supplies and your new closet will become a fabulous asset rather than a daily nightmare.

What to do when you have no closet

So often our customers need additional closet space in a small bedroom or attic. Building out a closet can be upwards of $1500 and then you still need an organizer to maximize the space. Why not build a wall unit? Behind the doors, short hanging, shoe shelves and long hanging abound. Deep drawers often are divided for socks and underwear, t-shirts or jewelry. Units can be relocated if you move making this investment, priceless.

A White Closet Can Still be a Custom Closet

People often think that the color of closet shelving and architectural elements is what makes it custom. No, it’s the layout of the space, the consideration of your body mechanics and how you store your wardrobe. I just visited a small closet we installed for a customer who is 6’3″. View the video of his space by clicking here. You might notice there is no shoe storage. The customer requested this. He keeps his shoes downstairs at the back door and didn’t want to waste valuable closet space for them. You also may wonder where his ties and belts are. Well, he rarely wears them so we tucked them behind the closet door where they are easy to access but not part of his everyday work space. Here’s the most amazing part. Like many of our male customers, he didn’t think it was worth it to spend money on his closet. “Just give me a shelf and rod. That’s all I need.” He called me recently to tell me that we revolutionized the way he gets dressed and now he’s a raving fan. His wife told me that he talks about his closet almost every day. He’s obviously pleased with the end result of this project but we’re even more pleased. There isn’t anything we love more than unleashing a raving fan.

Take a Tour of the Completed Tuscan Villa

The Buffalo Home and Garden Show was a complete success. Over 40,000 attendees enjoyed a walk through the Tuscan Villa Designed by the Interior Design Association. Creative Storage completed a fantastic coat room and wine room as their contributions. View the finished project ..Click here!

Organize a coat closet

coatclosetEvery week we look at closets that have an existing shelf and rod. What can you do if you don’t want to remove the rod but want to add storage? Check out our friend’s closet. She has a nice collection of hats and gloves so we suspended an easy to reach cabinet under the existing shelf that has open shelving and 3 drawers. The hooks that are hanging the boots up will fit on any standard rod. The freestanding shelf that holds more boots has an invisible wall bracket that is easily installed. Notice that long coats are hung to the left of this shelf and jackets above it, making it more accessible. Check out the closet here!
